Weekly Roster Update 6/1/18

Welcome to the R.B.I Baseball June 1st Roster Update! On Fridays throughout the 2018 regular season we’ll put out a roster update for R.B.I 18 that best reflects the state of the game in Major League Baseball. We’ll tune individual players to represent the latest performances. Did Nolan Arenado send three deep ones to souvenir city? We’ll be sure to tune up his power. Trevor Bauer with a 13 K performance? We’ll add a bit more heat to that fastball. Let’s start off by looking at six week-nine players who really made an impact:

Andrew Benintendi

Benintendi has Benin-tearing it up! The red hot Red Sox have the best record in the league and Benintendi is a big reason why. Last week he put up 2 HRs, 9 RBIs, and a team leading batting average of .417 with an on base percentage of .444. We’ve boosted his Contact and Power.

Daniel Mengden

Mengden pitched a complete game shutout against the Diamondbacks. He’s one of 12 pitchers to throw a shutout this year, joining his teammate Sean Manaea. Mengden gave up just 2 hits, while striking out 5 and walking none on 102 pitches. He currently leads the league in BB/9 with 0.814. We’ve boosted Mengden’s Drop, Curve and Speed Difference ratings.

Austin Meadows

Austin Meadows was called up from AAA this year and is already making a splash in the majors. He’s leading the team with a .419 batting average. Over the last week, Meadows has put up 2 HR, 4 RBI, 6 R, and 2 SB, all on a .455 batting average. We’ve boosted Meadow’s Contact and Speed.

Jean Segura

Jean ‘El Mambo’ Segura leads his team in batting average and is top-two on his team in OBP, SLG, and stolen bases. El Mambo is a jack of all trades and he showed it off this past week, posting up 1 HR, 3 RBI, 5 R, 1 SB, and led the league for the week with a .571 batting average! We’ve boosted El Mambo’s Contact and Speed.

Jon Jay

His first year on the Royals has been an impressive one. Top ten in hits, “305 J” added a good week to his already great season. Jon Jay posted a week of 7 R, 1 SB, and .400 batting average. He sits at the top of the throne for singles hit this season and is chasing the crown for total hits, currently sitting in 8th. We’ve boosted Jon Jay’s Contact and Speed.

Kyle Gibson

Kyle ‘Gibby’ Gibson has shown consistent improvement over the course of this season. Last game the first-round pick for the Twins went 7IP with 5H, 7K, and 1 BB, giving up 0 Runs. Gibby’s numbers have been improving game after game and the baseball world has taken notice. We’ve boosted Gibby’s Velocity and Curve.
